Who we are

Cambria Veterinary Care started with just one doctor and six supporting staff members. Today, our practice employs three full time veterinarians and one part time veterinarian and nearly 30 supporting staff members. Over the years, we have cared for thousands of animals including dogs and cats and exotic pets like reptiles, birds, and pocket pets.

Your Compassionate care team

Johanna L. Vena, VMD

Dr. Johanna Vena, a graduate of Penn State University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, began her career working for two mixed veterinary practices in upstate New York before relocating with her family to the Johnstown area where she has practiced for the past 15 years.

Dr. Vena is recognized locally for her expertise in treating exotic animals. She has spent two decades gaining the knowledge needed to heal reptiles, amphibians, birds and other rare pets. Her interest in exotics was piqued during the four years she spent working at the Philadelphia Zoo, where she provided medical care to Galápagos tortoises, giraffes and other animals that require specialized handling.

Dr. Aubrey Vena

Dr. Aubrey Vena is a 2018 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University College of Agricultural Sciences and a 2022 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She was raised here in Johnstown on a beef farm, and you’ll likely recognize her as the daughter of Dr. Vince Vena and Dr. Johanna Vena.

Since completing a large animal internship in Texas, Dr. Aubrey Vena plans to expand the already varied Cambria Veterinary Care services to include Large Animal Medicine! She will focus on Equine and Food & Farm Animal species. When she is not caring for creatures small and large, Dr. Vena can be found helping on the family farm, competing in equine mounted shooting, playing ice hockey, propagating house plants, or having a beer with friends or family. Dr. Vena is very excited to finally be home and looks forward to giving back to her community.
